OUR DESIGN PROCESS
We engage clients in a collaborative journey from conceptualization to realization, starting with pen and paper during the initial consultation. This live-design methodology sets us apart in a world otherwise dominated by digital.

Attend an initial consultation with our principal architect, Wayne Visbeen, to discuss your project and see your vision come to life in real-time. During this meeting, hand-drawn sketches of your project’s exterior and floor plan will be completed with your input.

After the initial consultation, your project drawings will be converted into digital floor plans, site plans, exterior drawings, and full 3D models in CAD.

After review, revisions, and approvals, final digital designs will be submitted.

Detailed site plans, design footprints, exterior elevations, floor plans, and construction plans will be created for use by your builder. This phase includes full construction documents for wall and floor framing, the foundation, and all the extra details necessary to make your vision a reality.

OUR HISTORY
Visbeen Architects was founded in 1992 by Principal Wayne Visbeen in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
With a background in retail design and merchandising, Wayne’s first projects under the new company name included stores for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Sears, and Disney.
By the late 1990s, Visbeen Architects was beginning its foray into custom residential. Since then, our firm has designed over 2,500 homes and received numerous awards for architectural excellence.
